Lebanese Eggplants - how to tell when ready?

Hello,

I have planted some mini Lebanese eggplants. They are going really well. However, and please don't laugh, how do I tell when they are ready to harvest? I have several that are getting larger by the day. The one in front of me is about 11.5cm in length. They are a deep purple & slender. Any suggestions?

Harvest them while the skin is still shiny; the younger they are, the more tender they will be. When the skin begins to turn dull, it will be near the edge of its usefulness.
