Sweet white corn

My dad used to grow a very tall white corn 10+ feet. It was good, everyone liked it, but I can't find anything like it now. The ears were long 8" or more. Usually two on a stalk. The unusual thing about the corn was the small cob, shell the grain off and the cob was 3/4". It was open pollenated. Hoping to plant this year so some information will be great. Thanks

Dr Bradshaw at Clemson University has a two acre Heirloom vegetable display garden in Clemson at the SC Botanicle Gardens. He grows a white corn he calls Cheyenne pencil corn. It grows 10ft high and has small finger size cobs that are 8-10 in long (hence the name pencil corn). It can be eaten as roasting ears in the milk stage but is primarily a flour/grits corn. I've attached a link to the South Carolina Foundation Seed bank which sells the corn to support the Heirloom Garden display at the Botanicle gardens. Hope this helps Rodger
