Remove old flowers?

I have a Helleborus Orientalis which has finished blooming for this year and shed all its seeds. The flowers are now turning brown and ugly. Is it ok to remove all the dead flower heads or is it better to leave them and let nature take its course? Thanks.

Personally,
I think you're better to take off the old flowers and flower stalks. This lets the new leaves develop fully and lets air circulate through the crown of the plant, helping to avoid fungal problems developing.
