Those numbers that you show are total chill hours only. We had a Horticulture expert speak to us at the Tropical Fruit Club recently that explained that calculating chill hours is a bit more complicated than just getting the hours below 45 degrees. He said that when the temperature in the winter months reach over 80 degrees that the heat will cause that many chill hours to be subtracted from the total. As a result, we get a NET number chill hours much lower than the actual numbers of chill hours we receive. That's why we need to buy temperate fruit trees with low chill hour requirements.

Thanks for explaining NET chill hours. Interesting and it makes sense. A chill hour map I have seen shows Orlando with 210-310, which is about what I got.
