Holes in the middle of your leaves are most likely caused by slugs or snails. That being said, those holes look especially round and almost make me think caterpillar or some other type of wormy creature. I'm no expert, though. I think there is a bug forum here where people are better at identifying bug damage. You might try posting the picture there. Good luck!
