I finally cut mine down. I am from MN and used to seeing hundreds of blossoms on my mom's collection there. I got two blossoms last year and one the year before here in Texas. The bush was about 6 feet tall. I gave up the ghost and will put something in that does better in this heat. They do smell like heaven, however.

I would trade a lilac for a good, southern old-fashioned magnolia any day. The magnolias up north are so weak I could almost cry! Zone envy goes both ways...
