Last year it was white flys - this year it is teeny black bugs that seem to congregate on the new growth of my tropical hibiscus. I cut it back in early December and at that time I cut off a ton of buds that were covered and disposed of them. They came back and are all over the new growth. I've sprayed with diluted dish soap, put in the shower and washed them off and just plain taken the leaves between my fingers and squished! But they keep coming back! Where ever a new leaf is growing you can look down into the furled growth and it's just BLACK with them! The darn thing is otherwise doing well but it's making me crazy! I'm not sure they are aphids, as my eyesight isn't the best and I'm not that familier with them anyway. What else can I do while it's in my house? I've got six months before I can put it outside. It's the only plant in the house too!
