young hawaiian tree fern

i bought a hawaiian tree fern through the mail. i planted it according to the directions and waited......it has sent up one frond :) When should it get another frond? it has been around four months since the first frond it is around 24" tall. thank you.

This does not sound right. Soon after planting, the hapuu trunk should have sprouted multiple fronds and by now (after four months) you should have had a pretty good growth of five or six fronds in various stages of growth. However, give it some time, sometimes they take a while before their root system is fully established.
