This article has some solutions. I have a friend who put furniture into cold storage to kill termites. Freezing is mentioned here.

If you go ahead and tent, I urge you to wait until December-March. This is the slowest time of the year for tenters and you should be able to get a deal. They don't eat too fast. The mites, not the tenters... Lol.

My son had a problem with termites and he had a guarantee for a period of time from the exterminator. Did you happen to get that the last time your house was tented? If not, maybe you would want to get it this time if it's offered.

I'm dealing with the same issue. Fortunately for me, my exterminator is awesome and very honest.

Tenting is a hassle and inconvenience, but if you really want to be rid of the termites, it the best method out there. Most exterminators provide a 4-5year guarantee as well.

Termites may eat slow, but they cause a lot of damage in the process. I would not advise waiting six months to fix your problem.
