Has anyone eaten Hala (Pandanus odoratissimus) fruit? I hear the tips of the fruit(segments, brushes)can be consumed and I have some ripe fruit, but am wondering the best way to do it. The stuff I have is very ripe and pretty freaky (although not necessarily unpleasant) smelling, hence the name I guess. I am looking for comments from people with first hand experience, if any are out there.
