Live in Massachusetts got a very lovely braided tree hibicus..have it in a HUGE white plastic pot and i sunk that HALF WAY up into the ground..i planned on banking it up really good all around the pot with more dirt for insulation over the winter. In addition to this would it be a good idea to now cover that dirt also with burlap or a blanket to make sure it wont freeze?? Its 5ft tall and kinda large to bring in house and i live in a basement apt with not much light for wintering from a south window..can i leave it outside...will it survive till spring..it gets below zero around here sometime 10 below.
