Garden Chuckle!

Hi Everyone! I haven't posted in a bit, too busy with a home improvement project, but something happened the other night I just had to share.

I have Red Okra with Datura planted under it next to the carport where the DH does his grilling. The okra has been a great success and I have been cutting pods all summer. The DH, a non-plant person but still lovable, has even gotten involved and cuts pods too! He went out to grill the other night and came in with a handful of pods and told me there was another one out there but he thought it was "full of seeds" since the pod was "poofy"! I had just gotten home from work and was tired so I told him I would go out and look at his "poofy pod" in a little bit. Well he couldn't stand it so on his next trip out to the grill, he cut the pod off and brought it in to show me. He held it out and in his hand was a bud off the datura! Trying not to giggle, I explained to him that what he had was an unopened bloom of a poisonous datura plant and not an okra pod. I didn't bother to explain that the okra pods were red and the datura bud was purple but I will have to supervise his okra cutting more closely I guess!
