This is not one of my kitchens- but looking really close at the photo, the countertops may not be granite but a product made with granite (there are several brands out there that make this product) It's a wonderful option but cost is the same or more than granite (depending on what granite you are comparing it to) Some people prefer this over granite due to more color options and upkeep is supposedly easier, less porous, etc.,) It could also possibly be soapstone...which is a great natural stone choice. It is generally a soft black with grayish white veining...

Matter of fact, this could possibly even be a type of solid man made product comparable to Corian...
