Hi Jan,

That's the meliflua v. fraterna, if I remember correctly. Couldn't get the darned thing to grow worth a crap for me. Glad to hear it's flourishing for you!! Last summer, I got a plain old meliflua and it's doing great. Got a cutting of fraterna and - uh... - not so great. So, must have been the "fraterna" DNA in it that made it a problem child for me!

Please, post photos when you can. I always try to trade off (or give away) those that don't do particularly well for me before they're not salvagable, and I like to see it's paid off to do so!

Congrats, Jan!

Denise, it's meliflua, not fraterna has a peducle. Fraterna is just as huge but no peduncle(I need to check). I lost inventory database when my computer crashed last time.
Anyways, looking forward to the flowers.
Jan

What I meant, Jan, is that it's meliflua ssp. fraterna, not plain meliflua that I sent you. Gardino's sells this one (though I got mine from another source...) See the link below to the one Gardino's offers...

Here is a link that might be useful: H. meliflua ssp. fraterna

Denise, I have both plants.

Denise, it's a stem branching out not peduncle ; (

Don't you hate it when that happens? Having that excitement of a first peduncle crushed by the realization that it's just new growth - drat!!
