we planted some last year at a client's property. Will check this spring to see how they did. Are you looking for the plants or information about them? I know we bought them sort of locally. It might have been at Ruslyn's in New Paltz or possibly Davenport's in Stone Ridge, though it may have been at a wholesale nursery in Florida, NY.

I think I can buy the plant at Griggs in Rhinebeck. I was really wanting to know how they grow here since they are native to coastal regions I think.

I ordered a small one from Richters this season so I don't know if they'll make it yet - either through the elements or the deer. All the reading that I've done says that they are native to the coastal regions, can tolerate some salt spray and like it moist.

Hi, Candyinpok: Where is Griggs in Rhinbeck? I only know Phantom Gardener in Rhinebeck. Is it a good resource?

Actually it's Grieg Farm (I think) and they're more in Red Hook than Rhinebeck. I've misplaced my list and can't find it. They changed the name to Grandiflora's and now sell nursery goods. Actually, I just googled it and they're listed under Grandifloria, 144 Pitcher Lane, Red Hook.

Phantom might have them too, and I'd rather buy there actually. They have been better with advice and also have a better selection including natives. I just remember seeing a bearberry at Grieg's Farm and liking it. I once knew relatives of the family who own Grieg's Farm and there were hayrides every Halloween up there.
