I do landscape gardening for a living. We just planted 4 trees, 500 daylillies, 25 perenial foxglove, 10 Stephanandra (small shrub) 4 climbing hydranga and a couple of grasses yesterday. We'll work at the same site next week and will plant a bunch more. I still have a few things left in pots all summer that I will plant in my own garden (which always suffers from time shortage) this weekend. I'll wait for a couple of weeks to plant my garlic because sometimes, with a warm fall, the cloves will sprout and they produce larger cloves if the just grow roots now. It's important to mulch the garlic well.

We got both large beds planted, watered and mulched. Sun was warm, air was cool, soup and crackers for lunch and a helpful husband all made for a very good day in the garden.
