Hummingbird Garden

forgot to bring in my handheld feeder

I've been trying to lure them in using this base from a broken cheap feeder as a handheld feeder. I had one get about 2 feet from me yesterday. I was changing the nectar out all around, and would leave this one wherever I took a feeder down to clean and fill. I put it on this rail while watering and forgot all about it. I saw a hummer swoop from a wire down to an area where there are no feeders/flowers, so I got up to look. check it out. not the best pic, but I thought it was funny.

That is too good!!! I never cease to be amazed at how quickly a hummie finds a feeder - or even part of a feeder at that!!! :o)

How funny. Your birds are trained to find the feeders! Ours took 2 months until I saw a juvenile using them.
