I would so love to be able to see hummers in the Winter. It will be at least 2 months before I see another one.

And not till May for us :(

Spring, come soon, we miss you! I know we're lucky to have hummers year-round. We've had a cold week here -- it was 17 degrees a few nights ago. We've been shuttling the feeders in/out at nights so they don't freeze solid. The number of hummers have dropped... just 1 or 2 at a time now, and mostly at midday. Hope they're all ok somewhere.

According the the 2006 Hummingbird Migration Map the first Ruby was sited on February 25. That is just about 4 weeks and 4 days before one chould make landfall on the gulf coast.

Here you go. The 2007 is not out yet but you can be sure that you will hear us hummerlovers yelling when it is posted.

Lanny usually posts the new map sometime in February but I can't remember exactly when. Several of my friends in Ont. see their first hummer before I do here in Niagara Falls.
