Without a doubt, Lady In Red Salvia...tho my babies love everything I put out for them, this was by far the biggest draw! I know it's a reseeder/self-seeder, I've wintersown a bunch and I've started some under lights inside just in case!

Do I get a second choice too??? Black and Blue's would have to be my next slot... third???? well, I'd best stop, huh!

1. Salvia coccinea 'Lady in Red' or any of the cocinneas because like glo said they reseed, they grow easily and bloom until frost and they are cheap.

2. Salvia guaranitica 'Black & Blue' because it is gorgieous and the hummer love it as much as the coccineas

3. Coral Honeysuckle a native hardy perennial vine that grows easily and isn't invasive and it will bloom most of the summer for us in NY and the hummers love it and it isn't invasive

OK, where can I find seeds or the plants? Kinda new to this

Our Target has the Coccinea as does Lowes and even WalMart has had it here. Black and Blue is harder to find but I got mine later in the season at Lowes.

The coral honeysuckle since it blooms early here and salvia coccinea too.

The salvia coccineas and coral honeysuckle will be available at most good garden centers. Seed for Lady in Red is avaiable from Burpee seeds so any good nursery that sells burpee seeds will have it also check out the seed exchanges here at garden web.

Salvia Black and Blue is better to buy a plant because they don't always come true from seed. I have two hybrids from my black and blue that don't look anything like the parent. If you are in the Buffalo area, it may be very difficult to find. I had to have a local nursery special order it and I paid a king's ransom for it.

Coral honeysuckle is also available by mail order and the best deal I have found($9.00 s/h included) was at Mail Order Natives. I purchased mine from them and it was an excellent plant.
