Hummingbirds Wanted!

Do hummingbirds fly around or across the great lakes?

When do they arrive in the spring?

How far north do hummingbirds breed?

How many hummingbirds are in Ontario?

This project will help to answer these questions and many more.

Cindy Cartwright started THE ONTARIO HUMMINGBIRD PROJECT in 2005 to understand the life cycle of OntarioÂs hummingbirds.

You are invited to participate in this important project by:

- reporting the first hummingbird that you see in the spring

- letting us know if you have a lot of hummingbirds in your yard

- calling if you see hummingbirds with orange or brown backs, or white hummingbirds

You do not have to become a member to send in information,

but membership has benefits. Join the Ontario Hummingbird

Project and receive three electronic newsletters each year filled with information on hummingbirds, gardening tips to attract hummingbirds, and special members-only offers.
