It might be nice to know what kind of feeders you have . For example what kind are the bees on and what kind are they not on.

Just a question: feeder hanging on a tree-- and ants have become a problem. I "wash" them off daily with a hose... any suggestions? Should I put ant poison around base of tree?

I also have problems with ants. I use an ant moat above each of my feeders. Works great.
Some feeders come with built in ant moats, but they don't hold much water, and have to be filled every day.
I make my own with a heavy wire through the center of a plastic cap, add some glue around the hole, bend the ends into hooks, fill with water and your set.

Thanks Rob... I will let you know the results. I may take the easy way out and move it to a shepherds hook... I heard this might work.... We will see.

Hey ya'll,
We're having bee problems as well. We have three different
feeders and have bees on all three, although not as many
on the one that has flower shaped mounts for the birds
to feed at. Ants have not become a problem. Hope not.
We haven't seen any hummers yet as well. I'll post if
I find out what to do about the bees.
