hi steve i agree about to early but who knows,lol.usely i dont see any till around the last week or so of april here south of chicago.having a cold week here this past week,only in the 30's and at night 20,s.friday talking 50s so ill keep watching migration map,i'm all ready to put out feeders.lol pete

Yes I too never get any till 4-28 to 5-2 but my record is 4-25. Would be nice to break that record this year.

One sited in Maryland yesterday, that is about a hundred miles from me!

I've had my feeders out for 3 weeks now. According to the migration maps I am sure that if we did not get this cold snap in the last week and a half that we would have had them here by now.

I wonder if these early birds go to the same feeding sites each year, skipping most, or if it is completely random. It seems that most of us see our first 3 weeks after the first sitings in our area.

Yes I believe that , but actually they return to the same breeding grounds and that is why they move north in the first place but yes they also have to eat for themselves and their new young.

Im also glad to see them moving up the east coast and it appears theres a new sighting in Jersey so they must be close to you.

Yes I agree it seems to be they arrive about 3 weeks after the first arrives in an area. But they have to go somewhere first and one of these days that first could be you or I. I have never gotten on Lanny's map maybe one of these days.
