Hi Ken I am in Delaware, just south of you. I saw my first male on April 21st. I had no sightings for a couple of days after that, but now I am having hits at both feeders many times daily.

I think Vicki is describing it pretty close to what usually happens to me. There is no guarantee that after you see the first one that you will see it again the next day or that its even the same one if you do. I find it can be very shaky at first but I still get the same excitement when that first one arrives every year., No not yet.

I wonder why I am hummerless. :c( They are all around me. As I said above I have tons of flowers open and a bunch of feeders out.

Vicki, how many years have you been feeding the hummers? Do you have so many in August that you have as many birds sharing your feeders as Steve does?

eigdeh, for years I've seen sightings on the map a week or two before my first. Its a crap shoot for anyone's area. This year I was first in my area. It'll never happen again for me. Just too many hummer enthusiasts around to be first.
I'm just glad to see the sightings in my area, knowing they will be here soon.
My first sightings are just your migrants moving through to Indiana and New Jersey and to ..... Here today, gone tomorrow.
