A hummingbird visits my aloe vera plants everyday while they are blooming. Today a bird I never saw before, about four times the size of a hummingbird with a yellow breast and light brown back wanted at them too, but was eventually chased away by the hummer until another hummer came by and distracted it. The hummer also has competition from some bees that decided to make a nest in my water meter vault. They will have to go before the next scheduled water meter reading.

This hummer is very territorial and will fly in front of me and stand its ground while I am trying to hand pollinate some of my fruit trees as if to say leave off, these are mine.
