Hello,

I just jumped on because my Hubby and I saw our first male ruby just now! We are in Western MA. He was adorable, drank from our feeder then perched himself right on top so we got to see him at rest too. Did this off and on for awhile. I did miss seeing them so much!

Yeah to another season!

I am here in SW Ct. and hoping for hummers soon. Hubby bought me a beautiful new glass feeder for X-mas. Will put it out tomorrow! Would like to see more of them here this year.

Hi Everyone!

How exciting for you both!!! :) I live in East Windsor CT which is right between the two of you and even though I don't usually see a hummingbird until the second week of May I put my feeder out at the end of March, just in case!!!! Well, I'm so happy to hear they have been sighted in our state!!! According to the migration map they have been here since late April.

Hi all! I am in Milford Ct on the shoreline. Where are you Marcy and SWCt and Cookie - what town? It is so frustrating to know they are here - two of my friends have them - but I haven't seen one yet! My feeders have been out since the beginning of April and have several red plants in hanging baskets. My columbines, coral bells and bleeding heart are blooming.
Happy for all you that have them and I keep on hoping tomorrow will be the day!

Saw one over the w/e in Glastonbury at the feeder. Just put up the hanging baskets now that frost is over and the honeysuckle is getting ready to bloom. Saw female a few times. Haven't had time to watch much though.

I'm so sorry I haven't responded sooner, but I've been so busy in my yard mulching, planting perennials, plant shopping.......and.........working of course........(notice I put that last on the list) that I haven't had time to write back, but I live about a half an hour north of Hartford, and forty-five minutes south of Glastonbury!!!! I haven't seen one yet either Carol, and my bleeding heart is in full bloom and I have all sorts of fuschia's, new guinea impatients, verbena, petunias and geranium hangers and pots all over the place!!!! Last year I didn't see my first little visitor until May 15th!!!! It shouldn't be too long now!!!! I hope you have seen one since your last posting!!!! Hey Mike, send one over to me!!!!!!!

Apologies for my late reply as well. I live in Wilton CT, and we now have two regulars visiting our feeder - a male and female. Red Buckeye is in bloom as in trumpet honeysuckle. Plenty for these birds to feed on!
