I got this from the Breeding Bird summaries. It shows the relative abundance of Ruby-throats across their breeding range. I'm not sure exactly what the numbers mean, but the deeper the color, the more Ruby-throats recorded by trained observers. I thought people might enjoy finding themselves on the map and seeing if they're in a hummer hotspot, or just more average.

What's the deal in Oklahoma? They're incredibly abundant there, in that one little part. Is that Oklahoma City? I'd have to look it up.

Hummersteve, if you're reading this, looks like you're in a area of relative abundance. I am not. Good grief, maybe that's why I haven't seen any yet!

Maybe if I keep putting those feeders up, and expanding my garden, they'll have to put a darker pink speck on our yard!
