I put my feeders up at the end of april. I noticed the fluid level in one going down but didn't really spot them until this week. Now I have a pair camping out and fighting over this location... I need to go out and get a few more feeders.

I'm in Columbia, and we put our feeder up about two weeks ago. Just this morning, we saw our first hummer! At first, he flitted by the edge of our deck, headed for the feeder (which is suctioned to the kitchen window), but then veered away. A few minutes later, as I was standing at the kitchen sink, the bird (or another look-alike) flew back to the feeder, right in front of my eyes! I was afraid of spooking it, so it took me a minute to get my husband's attention in the other room! So exciting. :)

I was a regular here several years ago, have been away for awhile, and it's fun to be back with you bird- and garden-loving folks! Thanks.

LCS23, where are you in Maryland?

I'm in Chesapeake City. I had my feeders up by April 16 but didn't have a sighting until April 20. Only sporadic visits until last few days of April when a couple of females started visiting frequently. First male arrived about a few days into May.

I saw my first ruby-throated hummingbird of 2009 and we live outsdie of Gettysburg, PA closer to Emmitsburg MD in Frederick County. He came to the feeder all weekend and also fed from the columbine and weigela flowers.

I'm in Rockville MD and we're seeing our lady hummingbird pretty regularly now. I love the summer!
