Carmen, you are so funny! and you are very welcome. I am glad that you like them. Yesterday I made the tomato sauce and the yellow salsa. The tomato sauce has herbs and tomatoes from the garden and for the yellow salsa I picked just the yellow tomatoes and yellow peppers, you can use it on top of chicken, fish or eggs. I use the citrus marmalades with oatmeal, yogurt or on toast.
I made the pumpkin/sausage lasagna with the tomato sauce last week that I had visitors and is always good or you just can use it on top of any pasta.
    Enjoy!

Carmen, you are a lucky lady! Did you make something yummy to eat with the marmalade? Don't you just love homemade canned goods?

Carmen I realized as I tend my garden you really hooked me up on plants. I have two different types of orchids from you that appear happy. One of those is the white epiphyllum. I planted both in a medium of mostly orchid soil I had and mixed with some potting soil. I also have a vicks plant and chaya. Thank you dear lady!

Sylvia, you make some amazing dishes, you so should be sharing recipes on the cooking forum! Pumpkin lasagna? Yum!

My husband has been so pumped about vegetable gardening since Sylvia's garden party. He hadn't shown any interest in my gardening activities up until now. Currently he has planted five different types of tomatoes and two pepper plants. They are all in pots and I hope everything goes well for him. Anyway, I heard him telling someone about attending a "Garden Convention." I couldn't help but to razz him a little. "No dear, you went to a garden party!"

He is currently researching information on raised beds. We may have a problem with sunlight as the under utilized areas of our back yard are the east and west sides of the house and that doesn't appear to provide enough sunlight. My back yard has a southern exposure but I planted a Dutch Elm there a few years back and it shades the best area for a garden. Still trying to work this one out.

Have a great day in your gardens folks!

Hi Kathy, it's good to see you :o) I'm so glad you like those little plants. The mother to that epiphylum is huge at one point it had about 30 blooms on it.
I'm glad to see that our men are taking interest in gardening,My father always had something growing and most men in my early yours did too, so we always had fresh stuff to eat. Now adays it's the grocery store or starve LOL

My sweet husband just started to garden , he planted some brocoly amongst other things in our community garden. He was sooo supper exited when he brought home brocoly that had already gone to seed... broke my heart to have to say "it's not edible now honey" Oh well he's learning

    Happy gardening ladies & gents

Hi Kathy, I am glad to hear that the garden party was a positive influence for your husband to do gardening, we should all get involved especially taking into an account our health. All men love tomatoes and peppers, that is a good start for him and because they are in containers he can move them around and in spring they will be okay with less sun, remember the tomatoes and peppers that I had in containers around the fence and bananas, my biggest tomatoes so far are ones with a ginger, they are the variety Kellog's Breakfast, this is the first year that the yellow ginger from Hawaii flowered and the tomatoes are getting ripe over there.:)
And I am happy to share recipes here with friends from the Florida forum, it is great to use veggies and fruit from the garden and create new things.
Tell hubby that if he has any question about the raised beds or anything about the garden, he can always send me an email and if I know it I can answer or Willy can explain, he does the building, lol.

    Kathy:

That is so wonderful about your husband. I did not consider Sylvia's garden party because we live so far South but on your account alone, I need to engineer a trip to make sure my husband is at the next garden party. He has been mostly an 'annoyed observer' of my activities and a 'reluctant helper' when I beg because some things I am unable to do. But I persevere.

The garden has been my source of sanity although my success is dismal as far as gardening goes. However, my son walks around the garden picking berries, and chomping on herbs, greens, beans.. and then takes his buddies when they come around and offers them the same and advice.."This is sweet (Stevia leaf) chew it and then spit it otherwise it is bitter at the end" "This is a green bean it is sooo crunchy and it is good for you" "All this is MYYY garden":-)

God bless you all for the inspiration and advice.
