Faye, I didn't see the post that you are talking about, but I'll tell you what I do.

I have a 'Fogg-It' brand misting nozzle that I've used for decades on seedlings, but I employ it as a bird mister, too. It attaches to my garden hose. I hang the hose from a branch in a nearby tree and turn the hose on.

With a fogging (or misting) nozzle, you'll only need to open the water valve a tiny little bit to obtain a good mist.

The hummers love it!

I've attached some images of the Fogg-It nozzles, but any misting nozzle would work just fine.
