new babies in Hollywood

I checked the nest in my rosebush today and was excited to find that both eggs had hatched! Mommy is staying very close to the nest, and I've put a feeder just a few feet away. The babies are not very pretty yet, but I'll keep posting pics of their development.

Oh my gosh, are you ever lucky. I have looked for a hummer nest for years and have not found one yet. Thank you for taking time to share your pictures, they are adorable.

Aren't the nests amazing. Can you tell what she's put on the outside of hers? They usually say lichens, but it almost looks like flaked-off paint chips. The inside is so soft, it reminds me of a white cloud; wonder what it's made of.

By the way, Stevie, my cousin's street in the Hills is Byron Place. Is that anywhere near your neighborhood?
