pinwheel, foxglove is a biennial, meaning it takes two years to become mature. The first year it puts on roots, and won't bloom until the second year. I hope you're not too disappointed, but I think a beautiful stand of foxglove is worth waiting for!

I thought that the strawberry foxglove was a perennial type but the same would hold true. If you started from seed or an immature plant it will spend the first year putting out roots and growing and the second blooming. I put out seed this spring and they are only a few inches tall at the max so far.

Darn, I was hoping to have something tall and hummer-friendly in bloom after the bee balm is finished.

I'm looking forward to seeing it next year, nonetheless. I love the look of foxglove. This is the first time I've planted it myself.
