They like darting through sprinklers and there are places that sell misters that you connect to a tree or shepherd's hook to spray water for them.

my first ever close encounter with a hummingbird was while I was watering the garden - it hovered over the hose and drank from the spary - been totally hooked ever since! I got one of those misters - but havent's got around to putting it up yet. guess that's next on DH's list of things to do.

I witnessed a HB doing this while visiting a friend in Arizona several years ago. I happened to have my camera ready and it was the highlight of my visit. It may look like the HB is perched but it definitely was hoovering.

I was able to view my pictures on a big screen.
In only one picture is the hummer visible. He is on the arc of the falling water, drinking. I was kinda far away, but I've got evidence now.
