Do you know if she feeding young birds. I have seen robins leave a nest if the eggs werent viable. That is a possibility.

I only saw her sitting in the nest, so I'm assuming she wasn't feeding any babies. I hadn't thought of non viable eggs. Hopefully nothing bad happened to her. I'll try to see into the nest. Its on a pine branch.

WOW! I had thought the nest was abandoned, so I gently pulled down on the pine branch to look into the nest, and there are babies there!! She must feed them very quickly and stealthily! I won't go near it now. This is great news!

WOW! I am also excited about your babies. Since I have never seen a working nest; I may look around some, but most of my birds fly way into the woods.

Their nests are so cool, and VERY hard to see! I found 2 in the Fall one year, but this is the first time I've ever seen one in use.
I probably would have gone all summer without seeing it, except that I was walking under a pine tree branch and suddenly heard a hummer take off. That make me look really closely.....and there it was! Even now when I look for it, I have to look for awhile. They're so cool!
