Yeah, that's way too big for a hummer egg. It would entirely fill a hummer nest. I've only found one hummer nest and the 2 eggs looked like small vanilla jelly beans (about 3/8's of an inch). The nest had lichen and spider web in it. If you touch your 1st fingertip to your thumbtip, that circle is about the size of the nest.

The nest was in a volunteer cedar sapling I was about to cut down. If I hadn't been about to make a first cut at my height, I wouldn't have noticed it. That cedar owes its life to the hummer and it is still growing years later. Anything that is home to a hummer is going to thrive in my yard!
