That sure is a pretty blue color Standard. It looks like Salvia Patens 'Cambridge Blue", but I am certainly not a salvia expert. Perhaps the others will know more but check out this link. Also there is a link below for you to compare your plant with.

It looks like Guarantica to me too. If I was home I'd run out and check the patens. Aren't patens leaves fuzzier?

Sarah I looked at my Patens this morning and it is a different shade of blue. And Ward you are right, I forgot about those fuzzy leaves. That will teach me not to look at the computer so late at night.

I'm so confused, I thought B&B was salvia guaranitica.

B&B is a cultivar of salvia guarantica. This looks to be guarantica, but since the calixes "spelling?" aren't black, it is not Black & Blue. Cultivars usually can only be reproduced vegetatively from stem, root, or leaf cuttings. In the same way that every winesap apple can trace its roots back to a single tree, so Black & Blue traces back to a single plant with an odd mutation. I may have some of the nomenclature wrong, but that is the basic idea.
