I'm not sure, but sort of the same thing happened to me. I had at least two mating pairs that used my feeders daily, and then they just all of a sudden left. After about a week without activity I took all of the feeders down except for one. In about a month I saw them again, feeding from some of my flowers, so I refilled and put up all of the feeders. I guess they just left while thy raised their young.
