oh, mimidi, your cardinal climber is beautiful on the white trellis! when did yours bloom? I have been about 2 weeks behind most of your reports all season, and mine haven't bloomed out here yet.

Standard it started blooming about three weeks ago. I was wondering if it would ever bloom. I really love the color of this bloom.

Mine are so late this year they may bloom until fall or christmas or at all. Actually I don't have cardinal climber this year. The package was mislabeled: it was cypress vine which comes up by the thousands all on its own. It's partly my fault since I was late in planting it, too late to try again.

The upside in vineland is the manettia ???? should have its first flowers by this evening. What is it about new plants, the waiting seems so long.

Nice photos though, but not nice dangling your cardinal climber in front of me like that - and no more cats saying they're sorry, it's too late for that.

Those vines are really beautiful. Way ahead of mine. I did notice that a little red morning glory vine that is a volunteer has started blooming. They are growing up the Robert Kemp cannas.

Beautiful cardinal vines and I love the white lattice.it's on great idea My cypress vines are blooming too they reseed every year and they are blooming. I'll take a picture tomorrow But they are all over the place I don't have a beautiful lattice fence for them . Sarah

Sarah how close are the cardinal and cypress vine to being alike?

miimidi the cardinal vine is a cross between the cypress vine and the little red morning glory the leaves are a little different I'll take a picture and post it tomorrow. Sarah

Flowerpower the picture sure makes things look greener than they are. I do like my red vines on the white.

Thanks Sarah. This is what I thought was a cypress vine. They grow wild around here. I plant to find some and keep an eye on them until they seed and get some seeds for next year.

My cypress vines are growing up my honeysuckle and the morning glories have surpassed the white lattice trellis and are growing up my sunflowers and my neighbors shrubs. My cypress vine has has a couple of blooms so far and one on the cardinal climber so far.
