I have two very healthy thriving vines that show no sign of blooming - manettia and mina lobata - the latter almost expired during a particularly cold spell, and the manettia just grows and grows - now if they DID bloom, my front yard would be an eruption of color, and the neighbors are looking at me with great suspicion as it is - huge 12 inch pots with salvia, etc., my scarlet runner beans are in the backyard, and blooming a bit, but nothing spectacular - the native rhodedendrons (I know I mangled the spelling on that)finally bloomed in July, when normally they would have bloomed in May - we had such a cold wet spring that things are not moving along - but I noticed a bud hanging off of a Jewelweed, and they are almost five feet tall - I am about to toss my Gregghi - I know that that is a sin, but it is lanky and dries out and the flowers are not wonderful, but tossing something that is four feet wide and tall is scary - plus I am going to toss the mystery bignonia which has sat and grown leaves, but otherwise ain't much. It obviously needs to be forced in a greenhouse.
