Pruning Jatropha integerrima (Spicy jatropha)
Julie in WPB's recent comment, "I have a jatropha (about 8' tall) that has grown "leggy & lopsided" and desperately needs an "arborcure"" describes my jatropha, too... reminds me to ask...(thanks, Julie!)...
Can these be pruned to get multiple branching? I cut my 3 Spicy Jatropha (growing in shade) down 50% because they had a few trunks each, without branches ... they grew out with still single trunks until they reached sunlight, at 6 feet, where they did divide into perhaps 2 short branches with leaves and a few flowers. I can understand the lack of flowers in the shade, but does branching also depend on sun?
