I had a hummingbird frenzy here this weekend - with just three feeders and not as many flowers as I would like. I hope they stay awhile, though I am going through lots of sugar, too, trying to keep the feeders full. We had a nice steady rain the whole weekend. They seemed to really enjoy that.

Frank I have been seeing more Rufous also. They are my favorites but sad to think they will soon be gone. Thanks for the pictures. Ruth

The rufous hummers are the ones with the orange/brownish coloring, right?

Frank, I'm curious. About how many pics each day does your camera take? I believe you've mentioned that you have it set on a timer. I'm curious how much time you have to spend each day wading thru all those pics - I'm sure there's lots and lots.

Paisley: Depends on how many times I restart it! When I set it up the fastest setting is one shot every 60 seconds, and the most pictures it will take without resetting is 100. I have been known to shot 100 or more shots in the morning, and the same in the evening. Sometimes out of 100 or more pictures I might come up with one that I feel is worth keeping, while other times I come up with quite a few. (It's sure a lot easier than trying to get them to cooperate while I handhold the camera and try to get a shot since with digital there's a delay and what you see when you push the button isn't usually what you get when it takes the shot!!!)
