That's too funny! I bet Sami was taken back by having a bird get right in his face (but he couldn't get at it to bat it)! LOL

That is too funny! They haven't been buzzed like Sami, but my two cats spend a LOT of time watching out the back patio door...I have a hummingbird feeder hanging up as well as a seed feeder and a suet basket. You'll think I'm nuts, but I have to ask...have you ever heard Sami 'chirp'? My cat Sassy never does this...but the other, Hallie, does. It's not a normal meow or anything close and she only does it when there's a bird around. It sounds just like she's trying to chirp. I'm not sure whether she's trying to say howdy or if it's the feline version of a hunter with a duck call, LOL. Anyone else have chirping cats?

Hi Melissa, I have 3 siamese so they always sound anything BUT normal! They are very talkative and they make very loud sounds in different octaves.....believe me I have heard it all!

Melissa...... isn't that a hoot??... they sit and "chatter" at the birds!! I have a feeling it isn't a very good noise as the tail is twitching back and forth too :o)

my kitty, miss boo loves to watch the hummers also. she lays in the window and doesnt make a move. she chatters when a hummer lights on the feeder and we think she saying "here birdie". it is so funny. she thinks she can talk bird.

Our kitty likes to chatter at the birds too. She'll sit and watch all the activity on the deck where the H-bird feeder and regular feeder are, that tail will be swishing. Sometimes she'll even duck when one flies near the deck door, like she thinks it'll hit her, then she'll look at the wall in the direction it went around the corner. A little carolina wren will come and be chttering away and the cat crouches low like she's on the hunt, course she can't get to it. We call it her kitty TV.
