Hummingbird Garden

I live in cedar hill texas just south of Dallas and was wondering if I am far enough south for this to survive all year long or can I expect it to die in the witner. It is planted in a 20 gallon container. I bought it a week ago and it was very pricey because of its size about 30" tall. Is it possible that it grew this much in a year or is it older. The nursery personel was not very helpful. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

good question - i'm looking forward to the answer - its been named a Texas Super Star for its native performance

maybe you could go Martha Stewart on it and build a burlap & bamboo cover in the winter - lol

The hummers love it so much I went and bought another one. I just couldnt help myself. I will bring it in if necessary because of how much they love it and what I spent on them.

Northaven Gardens has them on sale at $4.50 for an 24" high plant. Don't remember the pot size or the dates of the sales. It was the first time I had been, but definitely worth the drive for us Dallas outliers.

Don't forget to let us know how it winters. The one I bought is going to my grandmother's in the Pineywoods.
