Thanks for the video, tmc. Nice record of feeding, plus audio. Is your audio pickup very sensitive? I was surprised to hear the "talker" making it's little noise each time it fed. The last bird to feed didn't do that, so it's obviously an individual trait.

The only sound I've heard is a kind of trrrrrrk I've heard twice when one bombed up to the feeder at 80 miles an hour and found me out on the deck-- backedup trrrrrking before it flew away.

Lol, for such tiny things, they're quite noisy. And actually pretty smart....I have a story (that you may not believe)

My mother used to put out a lot of hummingbird feeders and they'd run dry at various times before being refilled.

Well, I caught the school bus about 300 yards from the house, and while waiting...I've had one (I assume one...same?) that would come and buzz in front of me if the feeder was dry. Same would occur if working in flower beds...they let you know (with no doubt) that there was something they wanted you to do. They obviously associated me with maintaining those feeders.

No attempt was ever made to tame the birds..but they do seem to learn where the food comes from.

All quiet eating here in the past; noisy eating yesterday and today.

I noticed that the chirps were made as quick intro to jabbing into each flower.
(If you try to observe same in a video, keep in mind that
audio and video often are poorly synchronized during playback.)
