Patrick you are such a t-r-i-p LOL! No I have no idea about Chashmere Bouquet. In fact I didn't know there was such a flower. I thought it was the name of a bar of soap!

Yes, I think the bar of soap was named in reference to the beauty of this flower.

This is my first year to grow Cashmere bouquet...it's botanical name is clerodendron bungei. I was surprised to just read that it's in the verbena family. The blooms are tubular and I've seen a lot of ants running up and down the stem, so maybe there's some nectar there!

Had to laugh, cuz like Penny, the bar of soap is the first thing I thought of too!!! Wondered why you wanted to try to wash the babies!!! Doubt they'd like that type of bath much. I don't know about your vine, but I have Clerodendrum thomsoniae (bleeding heart glorybower vine) and it's just started blooming like mad. Nobody paid attention to it til this past weekend and one of my juvies found it and he's been going to every bloom on it as if it were the best thing since sliced bread! I am going to try to overwinter it as there are not many seeds yet, but I've found it does root in water very well.
