My wife and I witnessed a confused hummingbird trapped in the lobby of a glorious hotel/spa this weekend. The employees opened all the doors in hopes he would fly out. He was there for over 6+ hours frantic - hitting himself against tall ceiling - skylight windows. I could not contain myself - I caught the attention of one of the hosts and asked them to put out something to attract him - sugar water, anything red...etc. They were obviously not hummingbird people and looked at me cross eyed "this old man is crazy".

I then said a little prayer and no kidding in about five minutes...he swooped down and flew out one of the open doors attaching himself to a large pink petunia hanging basket and was OK....the whole place broke out in applause.

I looked up and said "thank you GOD"....

What a thrill to see that little guy out side.
