June is what come to my mind. So beautiful this time of year!

Beautiful hosta! I need help identifying mine, so I just joined. I can't figure out how to add my photos. How did you do it?

How about ... Fred?

I agree... June. But be aware that June can look very different depending on the amount of sun it gets. I have also heard, but cannot prove, that there seems to be several "strains" of June. Some tend more gold; some more blue.

Lois, I've read the same thing. In several spots. But, having gone through the growth stages of several June I'm starting to have my doubts. June when very immature, like when it's naught but a small single shoot TC, I have found to be a thin margined, rather yellow/gold looking plant. When that same plant matures though you will find the width of the margin changes, quite noticeably, and the color changes. And you're so right, light exposure greatly influences this chameleon of the Hosta World. My oldest June is in a spot where it sees much more direct sun at the front of the plant than the back, so the front looks much more yellow than the back. I think I prefer the 'darker' look of the plant if you were to press me on the issue, but I do find the brighter yellow expression has its own attraction. IMHO a Hosta garden without several June, in different locations, is incomplete.

okay, mebbe not fred .... how about "Kevin"?
