Horseradish in hydroponics

Hello,

I have a horseradish sprout that i found in a pot of dirt that i brought indoors for the winter. It has started growing becuase my basement is warm enough and i thought about sticking it in my hydroponic system.

My hydroponic system is a floating raft system that i use for lettuce.

Do you think the horseradish root will do well in the hydroponic system? I have read that roots in hydroponics get small and feathery, where with horseradish i want a big tap root so i can grind it up and make sauce.

I thought about getting a 5gallon bucket and letting it grow in that to see how it will do.

It sure would be easier to "pick" the root out of a nutrient solution and grind it up instead of digging it out of the dirt.
