will my hydrangea flower?

Hello,

I am new to gardening and last fall I bought a hydrangea at a local nursery. I planted it in part sun/bright shade area. It didnt flower last year coz it was already fall. It was outside in the winter, I didnt cover it at all, but mulched it. It is puting out new leaves on almost all branches and it seems pretty healthy.

I am worried if it will flower this summer. I dont really see any flower buds. Is it too early to tell? Its a very small shrub. I had read that if I pruned, it may not flower at all this season. So I didnt prune. Should I be fertilizing with anything specific?

Thanks for all your help,

Vaishali
