Sunny Lady Impatients

I tried a new variety of impatients this year. They are for a sunny spot instead of the usual shade area. So far they have been fine. They are hardening off now and thriving.

I've always like impatients but never had a shady enough area for them, so I was thrilled to find a variety which do well in the sun.

sunny lady is still regular garden impatiens. this particular cultivar is said (said !) to be more tolorant of full sun and in zone5 it is probably safe. The leaves will probably be ok, but you still need to water a lot during hot summer months.

Next year, try new guinea impatiens (NG impatiens). They are much better in full sun (Sunny lady is still regular impatiens).
