Your pictures are great, but even more so, looking at them was a learning experience. Thanks! I have been wondering if anyone has done any work to improve our native I. capensis? A dwarf version with larger flowers could be very striking.

Thank you I am glad you folks have enjoyed them. I dont think anyone is working on them right now not enough commerical value but, it would be neat to see. I find Impatiens balfourii kind of fills that gap, not in color but in size.

Incredible! I had no idea there are so many! Here in soon to be snowy Wisconsin, I just grow the common garden center bedding impatiens. But are those beauties perennial in your area? Do they go dormant or just keep on growing?

Only a few are hardy in my area most will not take my cold witers just a little too much for them. The hardy ones will do dormant in winter.
